Can I choose which practitioner to go with?
Yes, the choice is yours regarding which practitioner or instructor you want depending on availabilities. If they’re booked out but you are adamant you want that practitioner, you might have to book in advance, or perhaps choose another practitioner that may be available at your desired time & day.
Is the Bay City Health clinic a friendly place?
We hope so! When we opened the doors to the Bay City Health clinic, one of our main aims was to create a place and an environment where people could come to move their body, smile and feel like they belong to an awesome community of like minded people. From the clinic aesthetics, the many indoor plants, the overall vibe and the friendly staff – we really hope we’ve been able to establish a clinic that all of our clients would call ‘a friendly place’. Afterall, our motto is: “Move. Smile. Belong.”
Do you need an Initial Consultation?
Any new client to Bay City Health Group will need an initial consultation, with the exception of our group-based Reformer Classes. An initial consultation is extremely important as it covers aspects of your health including medical history; full assessment; in depth conversation about your presenting complaint; discussion of your treatment/rehab/exercise goals; outline of your management plan moving forward; and the actual treatment or exercise program.
Do you provide services for TAC clients?
Yes, we welcome all new TAC clients that have been involved in a road-based accident. To receive any TAC covered services you must have an active TAC claim number.
Do you treat Veteran / DVA clients?
Yes, we provide services for and welcome any Veteran / DVA client that has an active DVA Gold or White card.
Do you treat people who have been injured at work and are on Work Cover?
Yes, we welcome all new clients that have sustained any form of workplace injury. To receive treatment from services covered by Work Cover you must have an active WorkSafe claim number.
Do you need a referral from a GP to book in with an Osteopath?
You don't need a referral from a GP to see an Osteopath for treatment. Simply make a booking with one of our Osteopaths and they will take you through a patient medical history, full assessment, as part of an Initial Consultation.
This doesn't mean that Osteopaths can't receive referrals. Many GP's do refer clients to Osteopaths for treatment as well as pain management programs (EPC/TCA).
Can you claim for Pilates with Private Health Insurance?
Not anymore. In April 2019, the Australian Government introduced new reforms to Private Health Insurance. As a part of these new reforms, a number of services were completely removed from all policies including Pilates, Naturopathy and Homeopathy. However, this does not affect the ability to claim with Allied Health Professionals such as Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Exercise Physiologists who may use Pilates equipment and exercises as part of their management and treatment of clients.
Can I claim services at Bay City Health Group with my Private Health Insurance?
Allied Health services such as Physiotherapy and Osteopathy can be claimed through ‘Extras’ as part of your Private Health Insurance. However, this is entirely dependent on your level of Insurance and what services you have listed on your extras cover.
Will I be guided through my Pilates sessions or left alone?
At Bay City Health Group, there will always be a qualified instructor or health professional guiding you at all times in the Pilates studio. Apart from wanting to maintain our high standards, having someone there supervising will help keep a safe environment for you to exercise in and ensure you maintain correct form through all of the various movements on the Pilates apparatus.
Is there free car parking onsite?
Yes, there is plenty of free on-site parking, with 2 hour free parking on adjacent side streets.
Are you able to refer me for scans?
Yes, Allied Health professionals such as Physiotherapists and Osteopaths can refer you for imaging scans such as MRI, X-Ray, Ultra-sound, and CT scans.
Can you write a Medical Certificate for me?
Yes, if your treating practitioner is of the opinion that you need a medical certificate for your current presentation, they will write one up addressed to the relevant person or workplace.
Do you treat Pre & Post Natal Women?
Women at all stages of pregnancy are welcome to the Bay City Health Group clinic for hands-on treatment and rehab exercise/Pilates services.
